CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, San Antonio, TX - February 5, 2010

CHRISTUS Sana Rosa Health System’s support service partner, ARAMARK Healthcare, recently recognized eight members of its management team at the system for their employee safety achievements as part of the company’s inaugural Safety Excellence Award program.

“We are very proud of our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, said Mary Ann Wyman , Executive Vice President of ARAMARK Healthcare. ARAMARK’s Safety Excellence Awards span all of our businesses and this team produced more winners than any other businesses within our company, including our Higher Education, Sports and Entertainment, K-12 Education, and Business Service divisions.” The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa team was recognized in three award categories: the President’s Leading with Safety Award, the Safety Innovation Awards, and the Region Leading with Safety Award categories.

Gene Nowak, ARAMARK Healthcare’s Regional District Manager at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, received the President’s Leading with Safety Award. This is the top safety honor that the company bestows and is given to those leaders who demonstrate a passion for creating a safety culture and for their ability to transfer their safety practices to other areas of the company. Only 13 people throughout the entire corporation received this award.

The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa facilities management team of Silver Vasquez, Assistant Plant Operations and Maintenance Director, and Plant Operations and Maintenance Managers Frank Phillippe, and Jason Johnson, joined a team of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa environmental service Directors: Tremain Lewis, Kelli Moorer, and Julia Buttelmann, in receiving ARAMARK Healthcare’s Safety Innovation Awards. These awards are presented to teams or individuals who have developed best practices to reduce hazard exposure or incidents. Only 34 individuals received this recognition across ARAMARK.

Frank Phillippe was the only individual to be recognized by ARAMARK Healthcare in two categories, as he also received the Regional Leading with Safety award. This award represents the highest safety honor presented to an individual in ARAMARK Healthcare’s South-Central Region, which includes Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

“ARAMARK Healthcare’s Impact in Action philosophy is built on the four Pillars of People, Service, Operational Quality and Growth, and Financial Outcomes,” Wyman added. “Creating a safe work environment for our employees is a fundamental requirement for achieving results against all four pillars. The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa team represents an example of operational excellence for our entire organization.”

ARAMARK Healthcare partners with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa to provide support services including food, facilities and clinical technology services as well as laundry, patient transport, and asset management services. ARAMARK’s Safety Excellence Awards is part of the company’s overall Safety Excellence plan to enhance the work environment for the company’s employees and those they supervise by creating a culture for a safer workplace.
